A NOTE TO OUR CLIENTS (Jan 8, 2025)

When we created Whisk and Ivy in 2019, we had no idea what it would become. We were simply looking for a way to spend more time in the kitchen together doing what we love, and blessing others with our food. It was never our dream to grow a business; our hearts desire was to simply to feed people with love.

In 2022, we had the opportunity to pursue our true calling by forming, The Ivy Table, a 501c3 charity feeding people in need both locally and in Thailand. Last August, The Ivy Table, purchased an old restaurant in Brighton, MI and we have spent the past several months renovating it. In March 2025, we will finally be ready to open its doors. During the week, the space will house the area’s first pay-it-forward cafe, a restaurant with no prices so those who need to be blessed by a free meal can accept one with dignity, and those who have the means to pay-it-forward, can make a donation that covers the cost of their meal, in addition to someone elses. On the weekends, the space will be available for rent as a private event venue (with optional catering add-ons).

As our nonprofit has grown, it has become impossible to devote ourselves to both ventures. Our current W&I staff will be transitioning over as Ivy Table employees and responsible for producing the food that we serve at the cafe as well as catered in-house events. WE WILL BE HONORING ALL 2025 EVENTS CURRENTLY ON OUR BOOKS, but with the cafe scheduled to open in less than 2 months, we have decided to stop accepting additional jobs events past February.

It has been a great 6 years and we sincerely appreciate this community's support. We have loved being a part of so many milestone events and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know so many of you through our business. Although closing the door a bit on Whisk and Ivy is bittersweet, you will still be able to enjoy our food at the The Ivy Table cafe, which will feature many of Whisk and Ivy’s favorite recipes and dishes. We do hope that you will come visit. Follow The Ivy Table’s Facebook or Instagram page for grand opening information.

Thanks for everything,

Jessica, Barb, and the entire Whisk and Ivy team.

Memorable meals for every occasion

Our Story

Whisk and Ivy was created in 2019 by friends with a passion for entertaining and a desire to bless others with food.  Our company name was chosen with a very special meaning.   The WHISK represents our love for cooking.  The IVY plant symbolic of friendship, faithfulness, and resilience (3 words that represent what is most important in our lives).

We have heard on many occasions that our food is "better than catered food", or that our guests can "taste the love in our food".  We attribute this to the fact that we truly enjoy what we do, and we treat every event (big or small) as thought it were for our own family.

Throughout years of cooking together, we have witnessed how a great meal has the power to spread joy, build fellowship, and create memories. We are blessed to spend time doing what we love, with people that we love, and would love the opportunity to entertain with you!

Blessings,

Barb & Jessica

Our Food

We believe in using fresh ingredients (locally sourced when possible) to create dishes that look beautiful and taste great.   We make everything from scratch, from our dressings to our desserts, allowing us to cater to the unique preferences, dietary restrictions, and food allergies of our clients and their guests.   Contact us to see how we can elevate your next event.

From small private celebrations to large corporate gatherings,  Whisk and Ivy provides catering for every occasion in Brighton, Howell, Hartland, South Lyon, Milford, Pinckney, and throughout much of Southeast Michigan.

Our Mission

In February 2022, after 3 years of ministering to people with food through our catering company, we formed the The Ivy Table as a 501(c)(3) charity.  It is our hope that The Ivy Table will not only legitimize the work we have been doing to feed the less fortunate both locally (in Livingston County) and abroad (in Thailand), but that the new nonprofit status will allow us to expand our outreach even further.  10% of Whisk &Ivy's proceeds are donated to The Ivy Table.  When you cater an event with us, you are helping feed hope, faith, and love to hurting and hungry individuals around the globe.  On August 24, 2024, The Ivy Table purchased a building in Brighton that will allow us to grow even more.  Learn more about the new space HERE
